IMPD hosts fourth annual teen academy at Creston Middle School

INDIANAPOLIS — Officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are giving 12-14-year-olds the chance to learn a little more about how law enforcement operates this summer.

IMPD will host its fourth annual IMPD Teen Academy from June 16-20. This year’s academy is being hosted at Creston Middle School, located at 10925 E Prospect Street, and registration ends on June 6.

Officials said that this academy gives these students a chance to build a meaningful relationship with law enforcement officers through an interactive setting. Some of the sessions include:

  • Physical fitness training
  • Law and your community
  • Conflict resolutions
  • K-9 and mounted patrol unit visits

On Wednesday, IMPD Major Corey Mims and IMPD Officer Iris Farries joined the FOX59 Morning News to talk about the academy.
