Metallica performed a show earlier this month at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, Virginia, and it turns out it was a major blessing for an area family. The McKee’s had tickets to the show, and they told news station WDBJ7 that the night prior to the show, they decided to go to sleep earlier than normal and forgo their usual routine of watching television in their living room.
Not long after hitting the hay, a driver crashed through their house right into said living room. Kristin McKee asked her husband if she wanted to stay up that night. “He was like, ‘Nah I think I’m just gonna go on to bed,’ and I said, ‘Okay I’ll go on to bed too.’ And then just a few hours later we heard a loud explosion, glass shatter, and it was just madness from that point on,” she said.
The McKee’s unfortunately didn’t get to rock out to Metallica the next night due to the extensive damage to their home, but they’re grateful no one was hurt. “We were so fortunate that that night, my daughter could walk down that hallway and found us in the rubble, and you know, I thank God every day and Metallica for saving us because that’s exactly what did it,” Kristin said…
