Lincoln Police have released results of a traffic enforcement effort along ‘O’ Street over Memorial Day weekend. LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says officers on street patrol focused on traffic violations along with ground and air support from the Nebraska State Patrol.
Thomas says in total, LPD officers issued 73 official citations and 77 warnings for various violations.
Nine drivers were cited for speeding and seven drivers were ticketed for unnecessary noise. There were six reckless driving citations and two for street racing. “From Friday through Monday, seven vehicles were deemed disorderly vehicles and towed under the city’s new nuisance vehicle ordinance,” Thomas says…
