BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — An 11-year-old bicyclist is in critical condition following a collision with a vehicle at the intersection of Owens Street and Quincy Street on May 28, 2025. The incident occurred around 4:50 p.m., according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
Officers reported that the young bicyclist was traveling eastbound on Quincy Street when they were struck by a silver sedan driven by an adult female heading southbound on Owens Street. The collision took place within the intersection, which is uncontrolled and lacks stop signs or traffic signals.
