‘Social Pig’ property sold for $7.1 million

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Social Pig is gone and now folks can begin wondering what will replace it.

According to Marcus & Millichap, Inc, a real estate brokerage company, the 3.22-acre property at 3818 Devine Street, at the corner of Devine and Kilbourne has been purchased by Columbia’s Cason Development Group for $7.1 million. The site is the former home of the Piggly Wiggly grocery store and Long’s Drugs pharmacy.

In 2020, when it looked like the Piggly Wiggly’s lease might run out, there were plans submitted to the City of Columbia for revamping the store into a Lidl grocery and liquor store…
