LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida Purple Alert was issued Wednesday for a 71-year-old man from Lakeland.
A family member reported Frederick Blackwelder missing after multiple unsuccessful attempts to reach him over the weekend, the Lakeland Police Department said.

He was last known to be in the area of the 1500 block of Ariana Street in Lakeland. Police said Blackwelder may be traveling in a 2006 Toyota Scion tC with the Florida license plate 665-3VY.
He is about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighs around 211 pounds and has grey hair and blue eyes.
