Kalamazoo Klassic opens registration, supports MRC’s mission for adults with disabilities

The 47th annual Kalamazoo Klassic is accepting registrations for the local tradition, where runners gather to participate in a 5K, 10K, or a 10K/5K combo through Kalamazoo.

Proceeds from the Kalamazoo Klassic, taking place on June 14, will go towards the mission of MRC Industries, according to organizers.

“We’re a skill building program for adults with disabilities, whether those are developmental disabilities or mental disabilities, so, we’re helping folks with a lot of different things, including creating good, healthy boundaries, creating a good work life balance, and just learning some of those basic work skills,” MRC artWorks programming and retail manager Abby Finn said.

MRC artWorks, located in the Kalamazoo Mall, serves as an art studio and gallery, where locals can purchase handmade art pieces by clients of MRC Industries…
