Albany mayoral race fundraising tops $1 million

ALBANY — The amount of money raised by and for the four candidates running to succeed Mayor Kathy Sheehan has topped $1 million.

Chief City Auditor Dorcey Applyrs and Dan Cerutti led the fundraising haul, taking in more than $200,000 in the most recent filings with the state Board of Elections, with less than a month to go before the June 24 Democratic primary.

And two political action committees, one supporting Cerutti and the other supporting Applyrs, have raised more than $275,000…
