Mecklenburg County budget cuts hit organizations serving the vulnerable

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Mecklenburg County Commissioners are one step closer to approving its $2.5 billion budget with a property tax increase.

On Thursday, May 28, commissioners held a straw vote. They voted 9-0 to make changes to the budget that include cuts and relief for some nonprofits.
