47 seconds: Kernersville police outline chase that lead to deadly crash, Caudill’s fire

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. — The Kernersville Police Department (KPD) officially released a detailed account of what led up to the deadly crash that sparked a fire at Caudill’s Electric.

Police said that on the night of the crash, at around 8:20 p.m., an officer was driving south on Highway 66 when he spotted a stolen car, a Corvette, parked along the highway.

Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the Corvette was stolen on Saturday, May 24, from an address in its jurisdiction of Kernersville…
