33rd Legislative District Assembly candidate Tony Hector is pledging to give his $82,000 salary as a representative in Trenton to the Palisades Emergency Residence Corporation Food Bank in Union City if elected.
“Serving in elected office should be about public service and not self service, so today I am pledging that if I have the opportunity to represent the people of the 33rd District I will donate my full Assembly salary to a local food bank that serves families in need here in our community,” Hector said in a statement.
“I came to this country from Cuba with nothing and I have been fortunate enough to live the American Dream and became successful in both business and in life with my family, and now I’m running for Assembly to give back to the community that has given me so much.”
