EPISD board to discuss possible firing or exit agreement with Superintendent Diana Sayavedra

Superintendent Diana Sayavedra’s future with El Paso Independent School District will be on the line again Tuesday, when the school board is set to discuss a possible voluntary separation agreement and appointment of an interim superintendent.

The meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday at the district’s administration building, 1014 N. Stanton St. The items for the special meeting were placed by board President Leah Hanany and Vice President Jack Loveridge, who have been critical of Sayavedra, and posted at 9 p.m. Friday.

Through a district spokesperson, Sayavedra declined comment. “A special meeting of the Board of Trustees is scheduled for Tuesday, June 3, with agenda items pertaining to the superintendent’s duties and employment. At this time, the district does not have additional information to share. As always, our focus remains on supporting our students and advancing the goals outlined in our strategic blueprint,” a statement from the district said…
