The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, in concordance with the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, TX, has called the residents of Dallas-Fort Worth to brace themselves for a bout of poor air quality.
An Ozone Action Day was declared for today, a fact confirmed by a report on the National Weather Service’s website. This public health notification comes in response to anticipated conditions favorable for producing high levels of ozone pollution.
The public is urged by the TCEQ to help mitigate the impact of this smog event by “sharing a ride, walking, riding a bicycle, taking your lunch to work, avoiding drive-through lanes, conserving energy, and keeping your vehicle properly tuned,” according to the National Weather Service.
