St. Lucie County Humane Society expands life-saving efforts with new kitten incubators

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — Life-saving and life-changing methods are being used to save the lives of kittens on the Treasure Coast.

The Humane Society of St. Lucie County (HSSLC) announced on May 19 that it’s expanding its life-saving capabilities by obtaining not one, but two kitten incubators. The animal shelter says, the medical tools will enhance the quality of care for the most fragile and vulnerable animals in the community.

“This is what community looks like. Our team voiced a need, Hill’s Pet Nutrition doubled the impact, and then an incredible donor, Sherry Dunn, took it one step further,” said Nukhet Hendricks, Executive Director of HSSLC. “These incubators may seem small, but to the tiny lives inside, they are everything. They represent hope, compassion, and the belief that every life, no matter how fragile, is worth fighting for.”

HSSLC’s Feline Care Manager emphasized the need for this equipment because the organization is caring for a growing number of fragile, orphaned kittens who need urgent, around-the-clock care. She knew an incubator would be a game-changer for their survival…
