Police Investigate Early Morning Shooting in Seattle’s Central District, Victim in Serious Condition

Early this morning, a 24-year-old man was shot in Seattle’s Central District, prompting a police investigation. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. near 24th Avenue East and East Union Street, where Seattle police officers responded to reports of a shooting. The SPD Blotter notes that upon arrival, officers found blood and evidence indicating a shooting had taken place.

According to the same report, while the officers were processing the scene, the victim arrived at Harborview Medical Center via a private vehicle, where he is currently in serious condition. The preliminary investigation suggests that the victim and his friends, hanging out on the street, were confronted by a group of men. During this confrontation, a fight broke out, and one of the suspects discharged a firearm at the group, hitting the victim.
