Texas High School Has One of the Most Unique Mascots in the Country

We all know schools that have the same old mascots. Mustangs and bulldogs for example are used by many schools. How many hippos do you know?

This is one of those things where you can say, “Only in Texas”. Literally no other school in the country uses a hippo as a mascot. The town of Hutto, Texas just east of Austin decided back in the 1920’s to pick the hippopotamus as the school’s mascot after an incident that happened in the town back in 1915.
