Winnipeg man alleges girlfriend took his $5M in lottery winnings, then blocked him

WINNIPEG, Can. (WJW) — A Winnipeg man is suing his now ex-girlfriend after he claims she ran off with millions of dollars in lottery winnings he says belongs to him, and then blocked him.

According to Canadian news outlets CTV News and the Winnipeg Free Press, Lawrence Campbell bought a lottery ticket worth $5 million in January of 2024.

Campbell alleges in court documents that he and his then-girlfriend, Krystal Ann McKay, went to a local drug mart to verify the win.

“At the time, the claim alleges Campbell and McKay were in a ‘loyal, committed and promising’ romantic relationship,” CTV News reported…
