Biologist warns about spread of invasive fish, weekend shooting kills 1, injures 11

The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission is warning anglers about an invasive fish that is being found across the state.

The commission announced in April the Alabama bass are “now in more rivers and lakes than ever before.”

“In my opinion, the spread of Alabama bass across the state would be the greatest threat we’ve ever had to freshwater fisheries in North Carolina,” said Kin Hodges, the District 7 fisheries biologist for the commission.
