City of Greensboro considering demolition of Davie Street parking deck, transfer of property

GREENSBORO, N.C. — On Tuesday, the Greensboro City Council will vote on a resolution to potentially demolish the Davie Street Parking Deck and transfer the site to a neighboring property owner.

According to the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting, the City Council will vote whether or not to tear down the parking deck and transfer the property to BSC Holdings, which owns the Southeastern Building located next to the deck.

Officials say the parking deck has outlived its usefulness. BSC Holdings plans to turn the space into residential units with supporting commercial space. According to the city, BSC Holdings would handle the cost of demolition (around $1.5 million) while investing at least $12 million more in new development…
