Goose Debuts Led Zeppelin Cover In Spokane [Photos/Videos]

Goose drummer Cotter Ellis channeled his inner Bonzo with the band’s debut of “Moby Dick” by Led Zeppelin on Saturday. The drum-fueled cover closed out Goose’s second set at Spokane Pavilion in Washington on what would have marked John Bonham‘s 77th birthday.

The crowd erupted as Goose dropped into Jimmy Page‘s hard-hitting blues guitar riff from the second self-titled Led Zeppelin album. Surprisingly, rhythm guitarist/keyboardist Peter Anspach took up the mantle of Page’s impressive fills. The real show, however, belonged to the new guy Cotter Ellis as he unleashed the fury of John Bonham (and was even dressed appropriately with a Bonham tank top featuring the drummer’s logo from Led Zeppelin’s fourth self-titled album). While it was certainly thrilling to watch Ellis pound the skins with classic rock fury, what was just as enjoyable was seeing the look on Anspach and lead guitarist Rick Mitarotonda‘s faces as they watched Ellis play, their mouths stuck somewhere between ear-to-ear smiles and jaws agape.
