JoJo Siwa Confirms Romance with Chris Hughes
Former “Dance Moms” star and “So You Think You Can Dance” judge JoJo Siwa, 22, has confirmed her relationship with former “Love Island” contestant Chris Hughes. The pair met during their recent stint on the UK’s “Celebrity Big Brother.”
In a recent interview, Siwa gushed about her new beau, referring to him as “sweet Christopher.” She described their connection as “a beautiful development,” stating she is “absolutely head over heels for him,” and that the feeling is mutual.
Sparks flew between the two during their time in the “Big Brother” house, particularly after Hughes defended Siwa against comments made by fellow housemate Mickey Rourke. Rourke’s remarks, which targeted Siwa’s sexuality, ultimately led to his removal from the show for inappropriate language and behavior. Siwa identifies as queer.
While some have speculated that the pair’s connection was fabricated for the cameras, Siwa insists their relationship is genuine. “This is a very genuine connection – we’re not faking a thing,” she affirmed.
The timing of the new relationship has raised eyebrows, as Siwa was dating Australian actor Kath Ebbs when she entered the “Big Brother” house. Ebbs subsequently revealed on social media that Siwa ended their relationship at the show’s wrap party, citing “confused feelings” that developed during filming.
Siwa acknowledged the public interest in her and Hughes’s burgeoning romance. “People can see our chemistry, and they got to see it develop,” she explained. “I think everyone’s just curious, and I can’t blame them.”
Addressing those who believe the relationship is a publicity stunt, Siwa stated, “Clearly, you’ve never been around us. The happiness in my life just radiates off of me right now.”
Hughes echoed Siwa’s sentiments on social media, posting photos of the couple with the caption, “The previous 7 days have been the prettiest.”
