Police shoot dog, 6 people detained after shots fired investigation and standoff on Detroit’s west side

DETROIT (WWJ) — Police said a shooting on Detroit’s west side led to a barricaded gunman situation after a victim ran to a local gas station for help, early Monday morning.

According to Detroit Police Captain John Stewart, officers responded at around 2:30 a.m. to a call about shots fired on Whittier and Hayes Rd. They found the wounded victim at the Sunoco station, but then received another call about a shooting at a nearby home.
