Gunfire damages Kalamazoo restaurant, no injuries reported

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A local restaurant in Kalamazoo was damaged early Monday morning after shots were fired outside the building, according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office.

Calls came in about the incident around 2 a.m. near The Big Burrito, located at the intersection of KL Avenue and Drake Road. While no one was injured, several vehicles were struck by bullets and a front window of the restaurant was shattered.

“It’s a little bit anxiety-inducing,” Thomas Baldridge, general manager of The Big Burrito, said. “It’s not exactly the most fun environment we want to be a part of.”
