Police remained on scene early Tuesday afternoon in hopes of ending a standoff that began hours earlier with a man in Whitmore Lake, Michigan.
Northfield Township Police Chief Martin Smith gave an update via social media video shortly before noon, saying while police were not certain if the man was armed, “there is currently no threat to public safety.”
