CHARLESTON, S.C. — Saddle up, the Charleston Police Department is asking for the public’s input on what the agency’s two newest police horses should be named. But you have to rein it in — the department doesn’t want suggestions, they want neigh-bors to vote between options.
The police department said “before they can be sworn in, they need names.”
The first mount will either be named Joe or Riley. Joe references a “cup of joe” for the rich coloring of his mane, while Riley would honor the family of a police department supporter as well as a nod to former Charleston Mayor Joe Riley…
