Muscle Shoals man sentenced for stealing over $600,000 as pool contractor

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A Muscle Shoals man will spend 20 years in prison, Attorney General Steve Marshall announced Tuesday.

Gregory Kirk previously worked as a pool contractor in Madison County. He was accused of stealing monies paid to him by customers, forging a contractor’s license issued by the General Contractor’s Board, using a forged building permit to defraud a customer, and fraudulently using a customer’s credit card. He’s accused of stealing over $600,000.

The indictment charged Kirk with 14 counts of first-degree theft of property, one count each of second-degree theft of property, Second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, second-degree forgery, and fraudulent use of a debit or credit card.

On June 3, Attorney General Steve Marshall’s office announced that, pursuant to a plea agreement, Kirk is sentenced to a total of 20 years in prison…
