Standoff outside Autry Museum prompts freeway delays near L.A.’s Griffith Park

A police standoff with a person in an SUV prompted officials to close a pair of freeway ramps in the Griffith Park area of Los Angeles, snarling traffic Tuesday morning.

A SigAlert was issued at 6:25 a.m. for the north and southbound Zoo Drive offramps on the 5 Freeway and the eastbound Zoo Drive offramp on the 134 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Sky5 was over the scene at 8:15 a.m., showing a large police response centered around a black SUV in the parking lot of the Autry Museum of the American West.

The officers appeared to be attempting to negotiate a peaceful resolution with the person inside the SUV. It was unclear what prompted the standoff or whether the person was armed…
