GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A car and a tractor-trailer collided head-on Monday morning in Georgetown County, killing one driver and sending the other to the hospital, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
It happened at about 7:50 a.m. on Highway 51 near Amos Road and involved a 2017 Kenworth tractor-trailer and a 1999 Nissan sedan, SCHP Cpl. David Jones said. The Nissan driver died at the scene, and the truck driver was taken to the hospital.
The tractor-trailer was traveling north on Highway 51, and the Nissan was going south when the two vehicles collided, Jones said. No additional information was immediately available…
