NORFOLK, Va. — Hampton Roads has seen a surge in tractor-trailer crashes over the past two weeks, with six incidents recorded since May 21— two of them occurring Tuesday morning. Several of the crashes led to significant cargo spills, and in multiple cases, drivers are now facing criminal charges.
Virginia State Police spokesperson Sergeant Michelle Anaya said while weekly spikes of such incidents can be random, the volume of large trucks on local roadways has increased notably.
