Sunday night crash in Lamb County kills 1, injures 2

A two-vehicle crash in Lamb County on Sunday resulted in the death of one person and injury of two others.

A Dodge Ram pickup traveling west on County Road 242 proceeded into an intersection at US 385 when a Chevrolet Colorado pickup traveling southbound was getting to the same intersection. The Chevrolet pickup, driven by 19-year-old Zack Rankin of Lamar, Colorado, collided with the rear of the Dodge driven by 21-year-old Randy Lopez of Littlefield, according to a preliminary crash report from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Lopez was transported with minor injuries to Lamb Healthcare Center. Rankin was transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock where he was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries. Hailey Spangler, 20, of Springlake, was in the vehicle with Rankin. She was transported with serious injuries to UMC as well. Spangler is in stable condition…
