Nurse job openings surge in Albany amid national demand increase

ALBANY, N.Y. — Recent data from the job site Indeed reveals a significant rise in nurse job openings across the United States, with Albany emerging as one of the top cities experiencing this demand. Indeed reported that the demand for nursing jobs has increased by 16% nationwide with the highest growth observed on the East Coast. Specifically, Albany has seen nurse job postings surge by 73% since the pandemic.

Travis Moore, Indeed’s Director of Healthcare Category Management, said, “So the one is that we have more patients seeking care because we have an aging population. We have many healthcare workers that are moving from a healthcare provider into more of a consumer of healthcare. And so with that, we see increased demand. We also have a lot of burnout that’s plaguing a lot of our healthcare populations, especially nurses.”…
