FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Greater Fort Wayne Crime Stoppers is pivoting their messaging as the group continues to advocate for an end to violence citywide following recent events.
It was in the agency’s latest promo advocating for information for a crime involving a 7-year-old child that was shot last month on Fort Wayne’s south side. Ken Fries, Greater Fort Wayne Crime Stoppers coordinator, said the “violence needs to end,” a change in tone from the agency’s typical duties in only asking for tips.
“A 7-year-old child was shot while he was sleeping,” Fries said. “I think no 7-year-old child should ever go to bed thinking they could get shot at night.”…
