Bardstown Road residents say fun can’t come at the cost of safety

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — After three people were arrested last weekend on Bardstown Road for their actions early Sunday morning, the spotlight is now on what it takes to keep trouble at bay.

Louisville Metro Police Chief Paul Humphrey said following two weeks of huge crowd gatherings and street takeovers, the goal this weekend is to be there early and set the expectation for the night.

“No loitering, no parking in lots they shouldn’t be on, no fights, obviously. And that is the route we prefer to take. If we don’t have to lock anybody up, it’s a win,” he said. “If we do, but we end the problems, it’s a win.”…
