DEC issues air quality advisory for Hudson Valley

The state Department of Environmental Conservation has issued a warning that ground-level ozone pollutants are expected to be elevated Wednesday in part of the mid- and lower Hudson Valley.

The air quality alert is in effect from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties. Parts of Staten Island and Queens were also included in the advisory.

Parts of the upper Hudson Valley are also expected to have moderate levels of ground-level ozone pollution, according to airnow.gov, which collects air quality information from the U.S Environmental Protection Agency, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and other air monitoring agencies…
