ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – In a matter of seconds, two young lives full of promise were taken much too soon. 19-year-old Amarani Gomez and 18- year-old Mariangela Duenas were struck by an alleged drunk driver in a head-on collision on Cove Road late Friday night.
Friends and family said the two girls had bright futures ahead. Duenas was set to graduate high school in a matter of days, and Gomez was hopeful to go back to college.
