Eastbound I-10 near Van Buren Street in Phoenix reopens after human remains were found

A closure of the left lanes on the eastbound Interstate 10 near Van Buren Street in Phoenix in the early morning was due to human remains being found, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.

Around 5 a.m. on June 3, DPS received a report of an unknown situation with several vehicles stopped on the left shoulder of eastbound I-10 near the Washington Street/Jefferson Street off-ramp, said Raul Garcia with DPS.

A trooper arrived at the scene and determined there were human remains belonging to a person who had been struck by multiple vehicles, Garcia said…
