Pittsburgh is about to get a little sweeter.
The intrigue: Beaver County-based Bruster’s Real Ice Cream is opening a new location on the edge of Bloomfield and Shadyside.
What they’re saying: Chad McWreath, owner of the new city location and the Bruster’s in Squirrel Hill, said he’s excited to expand into Shadyside.
- “Customers come from all over the region to spend 15 minutes in Bruster’s fun atmosphere with their family and friends while enjoying the best, freshest, and most delicious ice cream they’ve ever had,” McWreath said.
Context: The new Bruster’s will sit in a strip mall storefront that was most recently occupied by Emiliano’s Mexican Restaurant, which closed that location in 2023.
- Bruster’s is based in Bridgewater and has over 200 franchise locations across the country.
The details: Located at 4815 Centre Ave., the new spot will feature indoor ordering, two outdoor patios, and a full kosher menu.
- 50 spaces of free, off-street parking.
- High public transit access on several bus lines.
- Available delivery.
Dig in: Bruster’s is known for offering dozens of hard ice cream flavors (including several non-dairy options), sundaes, milkshakes, and specialty cakes…
