Cedar Rapids man accused of hiring hitmen in 2018 murder case to appear in court

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The Cedar Rapids man accused of hiring two hitmen to murder a Walker man in 2018 will appear in Linn County court on Wednesday to discuss pre-trial topics.

Andrew Shaw’s defense attorneys are asking for certain pieces of evidence and information to be withheld from the jury, and they are re-demanding a speedy trial.

Shaw pleaded not guilty to his charges, including first-degree murder, in late 2023. He’s also facing charges of solicitation to commit murder and conspiracy to commit a forcible felony…
