City of Eugene says fixing housing crisis is “A marathon, not a sprint”

EUGENE, Ore. — Two years into Eugene’s five-year Housing Implementation Pipeline (HIP), the city has permitted more than 2,300 new housing units — but only a fraction are affordable to low-income residents.

According to Housing and Homelessness Communication Manager Amber Allen, just 172 of those units are income-qualified, representing less than 8% of the total.
