COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– As the warm and sunny Summers are coming up in the Midlands, law enforcement agencies are finding ways to help people beat the heat.
Columbia Police Department:
Columbia Police Department kicked off its annual Fan the Heat program which was established in 1995 to help people who are most vulnerable to the heat.
From now until the end of October, people can drop-off fans, air conditioners, and financial contributions to help those in need.
These items can be dropped off at the following locations:
- CPD Main Headquarters – 1 Justice Square, Columbia, S.C. 29201
- Metro Region – 1800 Main Street, Columbia, S.C. 29201
- North Region – 3905 Ensor Avenue, Columbia, S.C. 29203
- Southeast Region – 2132 Devine Street, Columbia, S.C. 29205 or 446 Spears Creek Church Road, Elgin, S.C. 29045
- West Region – 690 Club Road, Columbia, S.C. 29212
Anyone who would like to make a monetary donation can make checks payable to: Columbia Police Foundation (include Fan the Heat program on the memo line).
