Loard’s Ice Cream in the Castro Village Shopping Center held its grand reopening on Saturday, May 31, with a warm-to-hot day, encouraging hundreds of longtime customers to welcome them back.
The former pink-and-white color scheme was kept after renovations, along with the ice cream art by Paul Matson. While the counter is new, the freezers go back to the original store, said new owner Charlene Lung.
She bought the store from her parents, Wha and Kyoo Chung, who had owned the store for 35 years…
