Smoke from Canadian wildfire affects air quality in Virginia

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Smoke from the Canadian wildfire has been stretching across the US and is now affecting air quality in Central and Southwest Virginia, according to AirNow.gov.

The current Air Quality Index (AQI) for the Roanoke Valley area on AirNow.gov indicates primary and other pollutants are at moderate levels. If you are “unusually sensitive” to ozone, it is recommended that you reduce time and activity outside.
