TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WSAV) — On May 29, Tybee Island Police officers responded to a report of a bar fight involving approximately 30 people. When they arrived on the scene, they were told the alleged incident involved employees of the bar and a group of visitors from out of state.
Witnesses told Tybee Island Police Department (TIPD) the fight started when a member of the out-of-town group was discovered to be underage. The group allegedly escorted their friend from the bar. They told TIPD the owner of the bar continued to yell and escalated the situation, punching a member of their group in the face. At that point, an all-out altercation ensued.
A review of camera footage revealed evidence that it was actually a member of the visiting group that had escalated the situation after physically attacking two of the bar employees. As a result, one of the out-of-town people was arrested and charged with two counts of battery…
