The St. John Social Action Team will join the national organization Indivisible in a No Kings Rally in Defense of Democracy on Saturday, June 14, with a march through the streets of Cruz Bay.
The event will start at 5 p.m. with local speakers and music at the National Park Dock in Cruz Bay. At 5:30 p.m. participants will march through the streets of Cruz Bay and end the route at Frank Bay where there will be a sunset celebration, according to a press release announcing the event.
The actions are set to take place during President Donald Trump’s military parade in Washington, D.C., on June 14. “Instead of allowing this military parade to be the center of gravity, activists are planning over 1,400 No Kings events in all 50 states, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and abroad,” it said.
Alongside local organizers, partners and leaders from across the pro-democracy and pro-worker movements, activists across the country will come together for marches, rallies, and demonstrations to reject corrupt, authoritarian politics in the United States…
