Arrest Made in Fatal Hit-and-Run That Killed Goose Creek Employee

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. — A North Charleston man has been arrested in connection with the deadly hit-and-run that claimed the life of a City of Goose Creek employee in April, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Terrell Darrel Crawford, 37, was taken into custody and booked into the Dorchester County Detention Center. He is facing a charge of hit-and-run involving death and is awaiting a bond hearing, Highway Patrol Cpl. Nick Pye confirmed.

The victim, 46-year-old Kelly Farmer of Ladson, was struck and killed on the evening of April 13 while walking along Dorchester Road near Tabby Lane. Authorities say he was hit around 6:58 p.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene by Dorchester County Coroner Paul Brouthers at 7:48 p.m. An autopsy was performed at the Medical University of South Carolina.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol’s Multi-Disciplinary Accident Investigation Team and the Dorchester County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
