Rayna Place pushback: East Charlotte residents unhappy about planned duplexes

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A small wooded lot in east Charlotte has become the center of growing frustration as neighbors speak out against a proposed development that could bring dozens of new homes to the area.

Kristine Fisher, a longtime resident of the neighborhood, says she was shocked to learn that the peaceful backdrop behind her home could be replaced with a wall of duplexes.

“We just don’t want it here,” she said. “It doesn’t belong here.”…
