LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – Animal shelters across Mid-Michigan are at a breaking point after Eaton County suspended most of its animal control services.
Now, only one officer is responsible for covering the entire county, meaning fewer stray pickups and more calls falling to local police departments.
“People don’t know what to do,” said Julia Willson, President and CEO of the Capital Area Humane Society. “They’re finding stray animals or having animal-related issues in Eaton County, and because there’s not an animal control to go to, they’re coming to us.”…
