Efforts to recover boy who fell into river continue into day five; Here’s the latest

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Efforts to recover Zy’Jae St. Pierre, the 5-year-old boy who fell into the Genesee River on Sunday afternoon, have continued into a fifth day.

Rochester Police are searching the river with scuba teams and sonar. They’ve worked with RG&E to lower the water levels in the river to help with the search. Police say the water was dropped low enough that a tethered diver was able to the walk the area and see he was not there.

RPD has asked boaters and fishermen to remain vigilant and anyone with information that can help is asked to call 911. See below a video from Thursday’s search:
