Comedian Tim Dillon Takes Aim at Meghan Markle’s ‘Victim’ Narrative
Comedian and podcaster Tim Dillon recently made headlines with his pointed commentary on Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex. Dillon, known for his often dark humor, has frequently targeted the royal family in his podcast, The Tim Dillon Show. His latest remarks, made during an interview with Fox News Digital, centered on Markle’s portrayal of herself as a victim.
“I think it’s just that she came to prominence at a time when there was a real cultural cachet to being a victim,” Dillon stated, highlighting the perceived irony of Markle claiming victimhood while “living in a castle married to a prince.” He went on to call Markle a “great comedic actress,” suggesting her portrayal of victimhood was a performance designed to garner sympathy.
Dillon’s comments reference Markle and Prince Harry’s highly publicized departure from royal duties and their subsequent move to the United States. The couple cited intense media scrutiny and negative interactions with the royal family as reasons for their exit.
However, Dillon appears skeptical, implying Markle’s complaints are disingenuous given her privileged position. “It’s hard to pull it off,” he remarked.
“She did it, to her credit.”
While representatives for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex declined to comment on Dillon’s statements, Markle recently asserted her happiness during an appearance at the Time100 Summit. She emphasized her contentment with her husband and children, seemingly unfazed by the ongoing public debate surrounding her experiences within the royal family.
