Texas woman and husband arrested after peculiar driving prompts traffic stop

A Texas woman and her husband were arrested after her peculiar driving prompted a traffic stop.

An officer observed a white Ford SUV traveling southbound on County Road 25a around 12:55 a.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department. The occupants were later identified as 57-year-old Aide Cruz and her husband, 53-year-old Benjamin Hernandez Banda.

The vehicle tried to make a left turn onto County Road 466A but stopped midway through. It then began to reverse, and as it drove east into westbound lanes, it turned too sharply. The vehicle corrected and continued east on County Road 466a, approaching the traffic light that intersects U.S. Hwy. 27/441, the report said.

The vehicle used a right turn signal and stayed at a stop for the red-light cycle. The report noted there was minimal traffic on the road and no signs indicating it could not turn right on red. Cruz, the driver, had ample opportunity to make a right turn…
